5///52 Plan Our Escape

I know, I know, I JUST got back, but when my bestie throws down a random ass road trip to San Felipe, Mexico at me, how can I say no? Clay, his friend Chris and I just said screw it, got in the car Friday morning and headed to the beloved San Felipe, Mexico on the Baja for a few days of camping on the beach under the stars, cheap mexican food and beer, and lots of sun. Clay and have driven to this place twice before, once for spring break senior year in college and once a few years ago for Memorial Day weekend when I first moved to LA. The pluses: There are no rules so you can camp right one the beach, drink on the beach, have bonfires on the beach, everything is cheap and its so nice out you don't even need to sleep in a tent, and these guys in trucks drive around and make you pina coladas out of pineapples right in front of you starting at 10am, the water is so warm and refreshing. The minuses: There are no rules so people drive their ATV's through the campsites from 6:45am to 1am as fast as they can during these busy holiday weekends, blasting whatever music as loud as they can and light off fireworks right next to you. BUT you got to take the good with the bad and I still think its an awesome place where the good outweighs the bad. The best moment was the first night we got to fall asleep to a meteor shower. Worst moment was waking up that next morning on the ground since we had a huge hole in our air mattress sore, sweating hot at 6:50am haha! But we fixed hole! YAY! We also found this thrift store one day where I found a BUNCH of vintage pyrex in the pattern that we are collecting for 2 dollars! WHAT?! And had great quality time with Clay and Chris not having a single plan to our day. That felt really nice. Its fair to say that I am OBSESSED with the new Chromeo album and even more so with the song listed below. It was definitely on repeat on the trip from start to finish. OK but really, maybe I'll stay put for a minute after this.
